ALICE LOUISE
(2000 Introduction)
ALICE LOUISE
ALICE LOUISE (Southern
Gentility x Kate Carpenter) 29" Late. Dormant. Recurrent. When this flower
first bloomed, we were in a cold spell and Douglas refused to go out early
to check on the new seedlings as they were not opening very well. My sister,
Louise, was visiting and was excited to see each day's new seedlings. She
rushed back into the house to tell Doug that he needed to see this one.
Looking glorious, it was open perfectly flat despite the cold night and
cold week. We immediately decided to name it for my sister. This vigorous
6" ruffled melon bloom with 3" wide petals has pink midribs and a chartreuse
throat. It has 21 buds on 4 way branching.
