Greetings for 2010
Welcome to the Hayfield. We have been breeding daylilies for over 25
years, with vigor, hardiness, bud count and, of course, beauty for the
Canadian climate. We guarantee all our hybrids and are happy to replace
them if unsatisfactory.
The summer of of 2009 started in late July.
The bloom season was late and we had significant bloom in mid-to-late
August. We will now be open from May 15th through September 15th (our
last day of digging). To better accomodate our customers, our new hours
are: Monday to Wednesday 9 to 6, Thursday and Friday 9 to 7 and
Saturday and Sunday 10 to 5.
Our weekly garden special feature was a hit and we will continue this in 2010.
People ask me about my ‘favourites’.
Well, I only keep about 20 plants out of 5000, so if they make my
catalogue they are special. However, see?‘Henry’s Picks’ on page 10 for
plants that deserve special attention.
After looking through our seedling fields and
selected seedling beds, we are excited by the beauty, and the range of
patterns, colours shapes and sizes of our future introductions.
Please plan on visiting us either during our
Special Open Gardens during peak bloom, July 23, 24 & 25th, or
throughout the season to see the tremendous bloom in our four acre
park-like setting.
Happy gardening and best wishes,
Henry Lorrain
PS. Order your favourite hybrids quickly as many are of limited supply and may be gone by bloom time.
